I went to Meiji Jingu shrine, which is one of most famous shrines in Japan.


There were so many people, because Sumo wrestlers were going to show their demonstration at the shrine.

New year pray

Many Japanese go shrine during the New Year period (Shogatu), and do their first pray to a god.






People usually pray for their family health, or someone pray more about their success of money or entrance examinations, etc.






And then they check their luck by drawing a luck paper (Omikuji).






This is an usual Japanese scene in the new year.

First dance

My parents go for a dance almost every day.
This day I first visitted a dance club.
My parents showed me their dance and then told me how to do it.
It's fun, a little, but difficult, a lot.

Toshi-koshi cake

There is a habit to eat a Soba noodle at midnight of a new year eve in Japan
. (Toshikoshi Soba)

But this time, we prefer to do it with cake.
